Order a complete moonshine alembic still set
The red copper complete moonshine alembic still set is an alembic still that is manufactured in Europe. The still is made of the best available quality. You can use this still on any available heat source, from hob to gas burner. With the exception of induction. With this ready-made still you can start making your own moonshine, gin, spirit and liqueur straight away. This complete set includes a hob (2 to 10 litres), alcoholmeter, turbo yeast and a book about making spirits. The still can be used on any heat source: from hob to gas burner (with the exception of induction). Please note: unlike in the photo, the 15-, 20-, 30-, 40- and 50-litre stills do not include an electric hob. The hob is not powerful enough to heat this amount of mash. We recommend heating the still on a gas flame for this quantity. To reduce the heating time, the 10-litre still can also be heated on a gas flame. See “Additional information” for the dimensions of the selected product. Also view our oak wooden barrels for storing and ageing your homemade alcoholic drink.

How do I start distilling spirit with the complete moonshine alembic still set?
When you start distilling spirits, you will first need to make a . You can make by combining turbo yeast with tap water and sugar in a fermentation vessel. There are fermentation buckets with and without airlock. For our Alcotec 48-hour turbo yeast an airlock is not necessary and a fermentation bucket with lid will be sufficient. See the instructions on the turbo yeast packaging for the correct ratios. For example, you can add fruit such as apples, pears, prunes, grapes, berries, etc. to the for a delicious fruit liqueur. If you want to use a lot of fruit, a thicker fruit puree/pulp might develop. In that case the hobby still for distilling fruit is most suitable. For making rum, coffee liqueur, whiskey, amaretto, liqueur43, gin, and other (fruit) liqueurs, you can also add an essence to your home-brewed drink. These can be found under accessories. You might consider purchasing our siphon hose with filter for transferring the mash from the fermentation vessel into the still. For more information, please see our frequently asked questions.
How much drink is left after the distillation?
This depends on a number of things, including the process of distillation, the alcohol percentage in the mash and the alcohol percentage in the final product. Roughly speaking, we apply the rule that you are left with about 10% to 15% of the mash as an end product. You fill a still up to a maximum of 80% with mash. So you can fill a 10 litre still with a maximum of 8 litres of mash. Of this, you will be left with about 1 litre of finished product (liqueur, whiskey, gin, etc.).
Why are stills made of copper?
Copper is a good heat conductor, which helps the mash to heat up evenly. The length of the distilling process effects the taste. Over the years it has been shown that copper, in combination with the specific shape in which the still kettles are made, benefits the taste. We therefore only sell copper kettles that are manufactured in Europe and not stainless-steel pot stills, which often come from China.
Legislation applies to distilling spirits. We are certified and we have a permit from customs to be allowed to sell these stills. Distilling water, essential oils, etc. is allowed in most countries. Distilling alcohol is only allowed in most European countries with an excise permit. When purchasing one of these appliances, or if you want to distil alcohol, you must therefore comply with the applicable legislation in your country.
