Complete whisky still set including manual, alcoholmeter, hob, whisky turbo yeast and book
This complete whisky still set is specially made to create the ideal reflux when producing whisky. The reflux is the amount of water vapour that is returned to the still during the distillation process, so that the alcohol content in the final product is as high as possible. The whisky still has a characteristic shape so that the alcohol vapour makes more contact with the copper. This creates the purest distillate possible.
Contents of the complete whisky still set
The whisky alembic still is available with a capacity of 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 or 50 litres. This means that there is always a whisky still to match the amount of whisky you would like to make. This Whisky Still Set includes an hob (only for 5 and 10 litres), alcoholmeter, whisky turbo yeast and a book about making spirits. The still can be used on any heat source: from hob to gas burner (with the exception of induction). Please note: Contrary to the picture, an electric hob is only included with the 5 and 10-litre still. The hob is not powerful enough to heat larger quantities of fruit wash. We recommend heating the still on a gas flame for this quantity. To reduce the distilling time, you could also heat the 10-litre still on a gas flame. The whisky still is made in Europe and of the best available quality. With this complete whisky still set you have a ready-made set to start distilling straight away. See “Additional information” for the dimensions of the selected product.
When you start distilling spirits, you will first need to make a mash. You can make a mash by combining turbo yeast with tap water and sugar in a fermentation vessel. There are fermentation buckets with and without airlock. An airlock is not required for our whisky turbo yeast. A fermentation vessel without an airlock will be sufficient. See the instructions on the turbo yeast packaging for the correct ratios. Also view our whiskey barrels for storing and ageing.
Why are stills made of copper?
Copper is a good heat conductor, which helps the mash to heat up evenly. The length of the distilling process effects the taste. Over the years it has been shown that copper, in combination with the specific shape in which the still kettles are made, benefits the taste. We therefore only sell copper kettles that are manufactured in Europe and not stainless-steel pot stills, which often come from China.

Our whisky stills are available directly from stock. The still is shipped free of charge and all stills come with hose clamps for the cooling water hoses. Legislation applies to distilling spirits. We are certified and we have a permit from customs to be allowed to sell these stills. Distilling water, essential oils, etc. is allowed in most countries. Distilling alcohol is only allowed in most European countries with an excise permit. When purchasing one of these appliances, or if you want to distil alcohol, you must therefore comply with the applicable legislation in your country.
